Cleaning My Life

In May, I've started my living clean and chemical free lifestyle, its Cleaning my Life up. I've made a list recently of things that I don't like. Sort of a rubbish bin of 'me'. Its filling up to the bream. And I am not buying a bigger bin. So, time to clean up baby!

My goals are:

1. Eating clean
2. Living clean
3. Breathing clean

I've pretty much given up on trying to 'diet' because it will always lead me to craving the 'chews'. Face it, I love food, i love tastes, and I love colours. Dieting doesn't give me the creative exit I so crave in my little world.

So,

Eating Clean
- That includes reducing carbs and replacing them will healthy natural carbs if I do 'want' it.
+ Increasing my colours in food greens, reds and oranges. My goal is to have at least 3 colours on my plate.
- Reducing portion sizes. I love a beautiful setting, a thoughtfully arranged dish. And this often means a relatively large plate to fit in my mental 'pretty'. I'm resolving that slowly...small cute bowls, pretty unusual plates.
+ Organic. I know I should be thinking about this. It will come as price point and convinience
 becomes less of an issue

$$: Quite expensive. Organic meats can be 100% more expensive then the cheapest option here, i.e. cheapest chuck breast $9/kg vs organic $16/kg. My money tree is not growing...

Difficulty level: 7/10 (10 is hard). Fresh greens are expensive and won't keep long. Organic greens are even more expensive!

Living clean
- No products with chemicals
+ Biodegradable products
+ Recycle

$$: There is actually a long term saving. -20%

Difficulty level: 3/10 (10 is hard) I am getting there. I recently found an online resource for chemical free, biodegradable products which has tea tree oil as the base cleaning/disinfection/healing agent. I LOVE tea tree since I found out that it could repel leeches during my days as an Environmental advisor  , trekker, bird watching, wildlife surveyor! It also heals mosquito bites and ...ZITS!

The online resource provided me with the opportunity to realise my goal of living clean while saving money. Which in turn allows me to work on my Eating Clean goal.

Wonderful! They are by Malalueca. Its an online supermarket, cuts the unnecessary overheads and keeps going because its works. Ask me how this is helping me save money and realise my Goal #1!

Breathing clean
+ Walk, 2 km 3/week
+ Run, 2 km every week
+ Run (half marathon 2015)

$$: Free...

Difficulty level: 10/10 (10 is hard). Motivation is required. Having a goal and children to inspire is getting me change. I am not there at all. My energy is also nothing to be proud about. Perhaps all the bad food and chemical loading. Too much processed food, too much carb, too much chemicals = too lazy, too depressed to do anything positive.

I am sorting out Eating and Living clean....I will breathe soon! MAY 2014
